Choose A Different Story

I was told my whole life that eventually the spark of love dies off - that it’s pretty much inevitable and the honeymoon phase has to end at some point. Well, as I am writing this - Adam and I have been together for 6.5 years… and I still wanna jump his bones and I get giddy when I see him. Needless to say - honeymoon phase is on lock.

Who told you life couldn’t be happy? Unhappy People. Who told you not to dream too big? People too scared to try. You know who makes sure you are set up to expect a mundane relationship? People in mundane relationships… Sounds a lot like people living in scarcity trying to project that onto you. No thanks! So, I stopped taking on everyone else’s story and decided to create story of my own. But I am getting ahead of myself… it didn’t always come that easy for me. So, let’s take a trip down LD’s love story lane….

I’ve had a few very different relationships. Most recently before Adam, I was engaged to someone else. Yep - I almost walked down the aisle to someone not Adam. In that time of my life, I believed that relationships were just meant to function. That the goal of a relationship and specifically, marriage, was to merely survive it. I believed the lies of the Debby Downers (sorry Debbys) that all relationships go sour or go boring at best. I didn’t believe it was possible to thrive in a relationship, much less stay in love. So, I settled (or almost) for a relationship hanging by a thread… one without true love. I figured if love dies off anyway, why have it in the first place? But I wasn’t always so calloused…

If you’ve gotten this far - leave a comment & let me know if you’re curious to read more on the adventures of LD finding love. <3
